Story
Hi there!
I’m doing the City to Bay for a cause that's close to my heart where I hope to raise much needed funds for the research and treatment of multiple myeloma.
Multiple myeloma is a cancer of the plasma cells in the bone marrow. Sadly, there is no cure. Multiple myeloma causes weakening of the bones, anaemia, blood-clotting problems, kidney problems and an increased risk of infection, to name a few.
I have seen firsthand - through one of my closest friends - the devastation and affect that multiple myeloma can have on, not only the patient, but on their family too. For me to walk 12 kms in the City to Bay this year is nothing compared to the pain they have been through.
